Associate Scientist - BS / MS Synthetic Organic Chemist
Responsible for the synthesis and purification of organic compounds as part of an established drug discovery program using both traditional and new methods in synthetic organic chemistry.  Qualifications include:

  • M.S. degree in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry with 2-3 years experience or a B.S. degree in chemistry having 5-7 years experience.

  • Industrial experience in synthetic or natural products chemistry is required.

  • Experience with carbohydrates or water-soluble organic molecules is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of organic chemistry techniques and reaction mechanisms.

  • Significant hands-on experience in laboratory synthesis, isolation and purification of synthetic organic compounds.

  • Extensive experience with characterization of products using HPLC, LC/MS, TLC and NMR.

  • Significant working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Excellent recordkeeping skills.

  • Oral and written fluency in English.

  • Highly motivated, flexible, and results-oriented individual wishing to join an established drug discovery team.

In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate will be a team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and communicate effectively on a technical level with synthetic and medicinal chemists, biologists, microbiologists, and pharmacologists.  Refer to job code CHAS.

Molecular Biology  - Research  Associates
BS/MS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field with relevant experience. Basic experience in gene cloning and expression, PCR, and microbiology is required. Additional knowledge and experience in homologous recombination is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in technical skills, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to organize work effectively in the lab. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact within a multidisciplinary team environment is also essential.  Refer to job code MBRA.
