− 4 years industrial experience or MS in Chemistry with 1
− 2 years industrial experience.
Sr.
Associate Scientist: BS in Chemistry with 5
− 7 years industrial experience or MS in Chemistry with 3
− 5 years industrial experience.
Staff Scientist:
PhD with post-doctoral experience or 1 − 2
years industrial experience.
Commensurate with position, proficiencies
and responsibilities include:
Purification using modern chromatographic techniques, analytical
instrumental operation (HPLC, LC/MS) is required. General
chemistry laboratory instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting,
data collection, entry, and management. Responsibilities
include extraction and bioassay-guided fractionation of active
natural products, as well as small molecule derivatization and
synthesis.
Candidates must
have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong
interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will
demonstrate technical skills, good judgment, attention to detail,
ability to organize work effectively in the lab, proven problem
solving skills, and a desire to learn new scientific techniques.
Ability to effectively interact within a multidisciplinary team
environment and supporting chemistry needs is essential.

Streptomyces Molecular Biologist
Candidate will be a part of a project team focused on cloning and characterization of Streptomyces genomic DNA. Position will involve genomic DNA preparation and purification, cloning of large (20-40KB) segments of DNA, and subsequent analysis of clones. Position will also involve the characterization of transformants with novel activities related to genetic diversity, via interaction with chemistry and fermentation groups.
BS/MS with at least 2 years experience working with Streptomyces. Demonstrated ability in general aspects of Streptomyces molecular biology including transformation, cloning, genomic library construct, library maintenance, heterologous protein expression, as well as excellent troubleshooting skills is essential. Basic molecular biology skills including restriction digest, ligation, PCR, transformation of E. coli, gel electrophoresis are also necessary. Experience with phage packaging and library construction in E. coli considered a plus. Refer to job code SMB.
Molecular Biology - Research Associates
BS/MS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field with relevant experience. Basic experience in gene cloning and expression, PCR, and microbiology is required. Additional knowledge and experience in homologous recombination is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in technical skills, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to organize work effectively in the lab.
